Option 1: host with a provider

Option 2: run the server on your PC

You install the dedicated server via SteamCMD and run it at home. Free on the software side, but the server process alone typically needs 12+ GB of RAM — that's a real requirement most gaming PCs can meet, but you'll want headroom left over for anything else running.

Check your RAM before self-hosting

Soulmask's server process alone commonly consumes 12+ GB of RAM. If your PC doesn't clear that with room to spare, self-hosting will be unstable regardless of your internet connection.

Start the server and connect

Start it from the panel, then connect in-game via the server browser or direct IP if your host provides one.

Creating a Soulmask server on your own PC

Install SteamCMD

Download SteamCMD and extract it to a folder, e.g. C:\SoulmaskServer.

Download the dedicated server files

Run: steamcmd.exe +login anonymous +force_install_dir C:\SoulmaskServer +app_update 3017310 validate +quit. That's AppID 3017310 for the Windows server (3017300 on Linux) — the game client itself is a separate AppID (2646460) and shouldn't be installed on a server box.

Open your ports

Soulmask uses UDP 8777 for game traffic and UDP 27015 for server queries/listing by default. Optionally, ports 18888 and 19000 enable remote admin tools, giving you a safe shutdown path without risking save corruption.

Configure your server

Edit WS/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/Engine.ini (or the Linux equivalent path) to set your server name, max players, ports and game mode parameters.

Launch and keep it running

Start the server executable. Your PC needs to stay on, awake, and clear of memory pressure from other programs while the server runs.
