Conan Exiles PvE settings: progression, decay and raid times

Plan Conan Exiles PvE rules, separate player and building damage and verify decay, progression rates and any scheduled combat windows.

A Conan Exiles PvE server is defined by its effective rules, not merely its browser name. For a group of friends, decide separately on player combat, damage to buildings, progression and abandoned bases.

Agree on rules before changing settings

Record session length, gathering pace, weekend availability and acceptable absence periods. One starting proposal is to retain ordinary difficulty, modestly adjust gathering if needed and disable player combat for a cooperative world.

This is an editorial suggestion, not a universal official preset. Retain current values and back up the world before applying changes. On Enhanced, inspect the options exposed by your panel. The historical technical manual describes Legacy and does not establish identical current values everywhere.

Separate PvP from building damage

In server settings, inspect PvP activation and permission to damage player-owned structures. They are separate controls. A PvE name does not prevent contradictory settings from being active.

If the group chooses scheduled combat, document permitted windows and the server's time zone. Verify player-combat restrictions separately from building-damage windows. Test with two consenting members and a disposable structure, never an important base.

Match decay to expected absences

The Legacy manual distinguishes disabling building abandonment from changing decay duration. Use your edition's corresponding controls and verify their in-game effect. Short periods can penalize absent members, while disabling abandonment can leave unused structures accumulating.

Define a clear policy for extended absences, administrator intervention and recovery from mistakes. Changing a rule does not automatically rebuild structures that already disappeared.

Adjust progression and verify persistence

Change one settings group at a time: experience, gathering or crafting duration. Do not assume every multiplier works in the same direction. Read the installed version's label and help text, then perform an observable test.

After restarting, verify settings, player access and any scheduled windows. Keep a dated rule sheet. Do not blindly copy historical purge settings into an edition whose systems have changed.

Frequently asked questions

Does naming a server PvE automatically protect bases?
The name alone does not. Check effective PvP and structure-damage rules, then test an unimportant building.
Should a small group disable decay?
It depends on absence patterns and abandoned-base management. Agree on an explicit policy and back up before changing it.

Continue with: administrator access, world restoration.
