Set the administrator password

Funcom documents AdminPassword in ConanSandbox/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/ServerSettings.ini for the historical Windows server installation. On managed hosting, use the panel's admin field and confirm the active file for your edition.

After applying it, join the server, open Server Settings and select Make Me Admin using the configured secret. The joining password is different from the administrator password. Keep the latter out of screenshots and public messages.

Open tools appropriate to the edition

The Legacy technical manual documents Ctrl + Shift + C for the admin panel and Insert or tilde for the console. Key bindings may depend on keyboard layout and client configuration, so check your input settings.

For Enhanced, confirm shortcuts and available functions in the installed version. An old command catalogue does not guarantee unchanged syntax or behavior for every action.

Start with inspection commands

The official manual describes ToggleDebugHUD for information including position and performance, and GetAllServerSettings for inspecting configuration. These outputs help prepare a diagnosis. Review them before sharing screenshots to avoid exposing private information.

SummonPlayer is documented for bringing a player to the administrator. Verify the exact name and syntax supported by your version, notify the player and stand in a safe location before teleporting anyone. It does not replace recovering a character backup.

Keep world-changing interventions accountable

Spawning items, changing rules and movement tools can affect a community's balance. Record who intervened, why and which backup was available. Test unfamiliar commands on a copy or separate session.

Limit who knows the admin secret and rotate it when a responsible member leaves. Manage hosting-panel access separately, because it may permit deleting or reinstalling the entire instance.
