Move a RuneScape: Dragonwilds World to a Dedicated Server

Move the save without overwriting the wrong world

1. Exit your local game, then stop the dedicated server. Do not edit its files while it runs: Jagex warns that live configuration edits may be lost.
2. Back up every file in the server's RSDragonwilds/Saved/Savegames directory somewhere else. Also make a copy of your local world.
3. On Windows, locate the local .sav in C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Local\RSDragonwilds\Saved\SaveGames, as described in Jagex's official guide.
4. Empty the server's RSDragonwilds/Saved/Savegames after backing it up, then copy in your local .sav. Restart the server.
5. Search the exact world name in the public Worlds tab and join it. Check buildings and progress before deleting any old copy.

To use different world rules, Jagex advises creating a local world with those settings first, entering and exiting it, then transferring that save. Merely changing the display name does not replace the world data.

If the server creates a fresh world

Confirm the .sav is in the Savegames directory used by the running instance, that other saves are not taking priority and that you restarted. Read RSDragonwilds/Saved/Logs/RSDragonwilds.log and compare client/server versions. If the expected world is missing, restore your original backup instead of repeatedly overwriting files.
