Add and claim your own instance

Start the server through your hosting panel and wait until it is ready. In the game, open Server Manager and Add Server. Copy your instance's assigned address and port.

If the first connection presents a certificate, verify the address before confirming. A new instance can then be claimed: assign a name and a strong administrator password. Complete this on your own server before distributing its connection details widely.

Separate administrator and player access

The administrator password permits sensitive operations such as loading another save. The player joining password controls entry into the session. Give members only the access their role requires.

Also distinguish hosting-panel access when delegating. Someone organizing a session does not necessarily need file or billing access. If the admin secret is shared, plan to rotate it when a responsible member leaves.

Choose between a new session and an existing save

Create a new session for an empty server. For an existing factory, use save management and import instead of creating another world. Verify the file's name and date before loading.

Retain a copy of the active session before replacement. After loading, verify players, the world and a new save. Detailed import steps are collected in the transfer guide so this page stays focused on daily administration.

Make maintenance predictable

Tell the group before changing settings or restarting. Check automatic pause, access rules and the selected session afterward. Record changes so another administrator can understand the current setup.

If you lose the admin password, consult your provider's recovery procedure and back up before resetting anything. Uninstalling the server is not a harmless password-recovery step: it may delete the instance's data.
